City Offices Closed for Christmas and New Year's

 

City offices will be closed Dec. 24-26 and Jan. 1-2 for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Garbage will not be collected and the landfill will be closed on Christmas Day. Trash for affected residential customers will be picked up the following Monday – Dec. 29. There will be no interruption of service on New Year’s Day. Republic’s offices will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Among the City operations that will be closed Dec. 24-26 and Jan. 1-2: Station 618 and Santa Fe Crossing senior centers, Southside and Carl Ray Johnson recreation centers, the San Angelo-Tom Green County Health Department, the San Angelo Animal Shelter, Fairmount Cemetery’s business offices, Municipal Court, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), and the San Angelo Nature Center.

City offices reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, and on Monday, Jan. 5.

Fort Concho and its visitors center will be open from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and for self-guided tours on Christmas Eve. The fort will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1-2. The fort will be offering all its normal hours and services on every other day through the holidays.

The Nature Center will be open Dec. 27 and Jan. 3, the Saturday of each holiday weekend.

The Nature Center will also host a New Year’s Eve slumber party for children from 8 p.m. Dec. 31 to 8 a.m. Jan. 1. The youngsters will play games, make crafts, watch movies, and interact with and learn about the Nature Center animals. Participants, who must be at least 5 years old, will need a sleeping bag, pillow, pajamas and any other sleepover supplies. An evening snack and a light breakfast will be provided.

The cost is $25 for Nature Center members and $35 for non-members. All fees must be paid by Dec. 29. For more information, call 325-942-0121 or visit the Nature Center at 7409 Knickerbocker Road.
