Near Disaster Averted Thanks to San Angelo Fire Dept.

The San Angelo Fire Department leapt into action just after 5 p.m. to avert what could have been a horrendous disaster.

“Basically a few minutes after five, someone noticed flames coming out from the bottom of the truck,” said Fire Marshall Ross Coleman.

The truck in question belonged to Schneider Distributing Co. Inc. The company carries propane fuel, and according to Coleman, the cargo was partially full.

The fire department evacuated the surrounding area and other propane trucks and extinguished the blaze in only a few minutes.

Coleman agreed that a major disaster was averted due to the rapid response from the Fire Department.
