Primary Ballot By Mail Applications Due Monday for the March Primary

SAN ANGELO, TX -- With the primary election scheduled for March 6th the deadline to register and/or update voter information is approaching quickly.  The deadline is Monday Feb 5th.

“If the voter registration application is being mailed it must be postmarked by the 5th,” said Election Administrator Vona Hudson.  “The application can be faxed or scanned and emailed by the 5th but the original must be mailed and received within 4 business days of faxing or emailing to the election office to qualify.  Otherwise, the application must be received by the 5th.”

Ballot by mail applications are now being received.  “Some campaigns prepared pre-populated applications and they work well for requesting a ballot by mail,” stated Hudson.  “However, we are seeing a lot of applications, particularly from one campaign, that the voters are not indicating what party they wish to receive a ballot for in the primary so we encourage everyone to be sure and make that indication on their application or we may not be able to process the ballot by mail request for the March primary.”

Sample ballots, polling place locations, and other information have been placed on the election webpage located at: www.votetomgreencounty.org.  Contact information for the election office is also available on the office homepage.
