Andrew Justis Announces Candidacy for City Council

Andrew Justis today filed his candidacy for the District 4 seat on the San Angelo City Council in the May 9 election. Don Vardemann currently holds the District 4 seat.

The filing period continues through Feb. 27.

Four of the City Council’s seven seats are slated to be on the ballot – the mayor’s post plus the District 2, 4 and 6 seats. City Council terms are two years.

To date, the only other candidate to file his candidacy is Dwain Morrison, who is seeking a second term as mayor.

Candidates file the necessary paperwork in the City Clerk’s office in Room 210 on the second floor of City Hall, 72 W. College Ave. The office is open from 8 a.m.-noon and from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Candidate packets containing applications, information and forms about the process for those considering running for City Council are available in the City Clerk’s office or online at cosatx.us/May2015. Questions can be addressed to City Clerk Bryan Kendrick at 325-657-4405 or at [email protected].
