Last Freeze Possible in San Angelo Saturday Morning

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Forecasters are expecting freezing temperatures in San Angelo Saturday morning.  

According to the National Weather Service, freezing temperatures are expected early Saturday morning and high winds are expected this evening and tonight as a strong cold front makes its way across West Texas.  

The forecast calls for temperatures to drop into the mid 30s tonight in the Concho Valley.  

The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Wind Advisory which is in effect from 7 p.m. this evening to 7 a.m. Saturday.  Expect north winds of 25 to 30 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH.

Elevated fire weather conditions will develop west of an Abilene, San Angelo to Sonora line this afternoon due to gusty southwest to west winds, low relative humidities and above normal
temperatures.

A strong cold front will move across the area this evening, bringing gusty north winds and much colder temperatures through the overnight period. Temperatures are expected to fall into the
lower 30s across the Big Country for a few hours early Saturday morning where a Freeze Watch has been issued.

Strong north winds will develop behind the cold front this evening and overnight. A Wind Advisory is in effect for areas north of a Sterling City to Brownwood line for sustained winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph.
