Petroleum Products: Anesthetics

 

On the hospital theme today, we’re going to look at anesthetics, yet another wonder of modern energy and science.

Anesthetics are used to temporarily reduce pain sensitivity, and are commonly used in the medical field for surgeries. Many inhalable anesthetics are made from ethylene, a petrochemical and colorless gas known to alleviate pain.

Petroleum is also often used in a jelly form for topical ointments.
