Community Blood Drive Hosted at Shannon Medical Center

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — There will be a blood drive at Shannon Medical Center on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

On Wednesday, the time to donate is 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Thursday is 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for donations. The donations will be taken on the second floor in the Legacy Room.

Donors are eligible for movie passes, Shamrock coffee gift certificates, Shannon gift shop coupons, and Free McDonalds Sandwiches.

Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are encouraged. To schedule an appointment call United Blood Services at (877)827-4376 or go online to www.bloodhero.com and use the code: shannon.

Must be at least 16-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health to donate. Donors between 16 and 22 must meet additional height and weight requirements. 16 & 17 year old donors must present a Minor Donor Permit Form signed by a parent or guardian. The Minor Donor Permit Form can be found online at www.unitedbloodservices.org.

United Blood Services has been this area's nonprofit community blood provider since 1956 and serves patients in 8 hospitals in the Concho Valley.  It is a Blood Systems blood center. Blood Systems is one of the nation's oldest and largest nonprofit community blood service providers, currently serving more than 1,000 hospital and healthcare partners across 28 states to provide comprehensive transfusion medicine services for patients in need.
