Dezorah Rocks at The Deadhorse Friday Night

SAN ANGELO, TX—Tonight at The Deadhorse, come watch Dezorah rock the stage.  Danica and Eric moved to the McAllen area in 2013 and started a band.  As they began playing shows they added Daven, Johnny, and Trey to their line up by Dec. 1, 2013, creating the sound they have today.

Dezorah is a post-progressive band that blends danceable rhythms of bass guitar and drums, aggressive guitar riffs, and soaring vocals.  Euphoric swells and percussive delays rise and fall with the dynamic movement the band creates — demanding physical and emotional involvement from their audience. As Dezorah is inspired by various forms of art, and their music takes on an ever-changing flow with newer influences, allowing them to continue to evolve onto newer grounds.

I got a chance to interview Danica this morning about their concert tonight.

Q: "What are your musical influences?"

A: "Mars Volta, Bjork, Death Heaven, a lot of classical music... pretty much a mix of everything."

Q: "What is it like to be a in a performing band?"

A: "I always wanted to sing.  This was my first band. I discovered a passion.  It's fun to play with people you love."

Q: "Have you played in San Angelo before?"

A: "No.  It is our first gig here. We are excited to explore the area and be in a new space."
