Townsquare Media Ends Crude Fest Music Festival

MIDLAND, TX-- After eight years, Crude Fest, a highly popular Texas country music fesitival, is turning off the lights and sounds.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, the festival thanked their fans loyalty and announced there would be no return in 2018 for the fans. "It's just become too expensive and too difficult to produce in an economic climate like this," the organization said in their statement.

However, the hiatus in 2018 does not mean the festival is gone for good. "We'll look at opportunities to return at a new time and location," Crude Fest added.

In 2017, Crude Fest attracted big name Texas and Red Dirt musicians like the Eli Young Band, Josh Abbott, Cody Johnson, and Wade Bowen, to name a few. Crude Fest also gave up and coming artists, such as Flatland Calvary and Mike Ryan, a chance to grow their name on the Texas circuit. Past talent to grace the County Road 1270 campground include Aaron Watson, Kevin Fowler, Whiskey Myers, and the Turnpike Troubadours. 

"Thank you for all of the memories and making us the biggest party in west Texas," the Facebook post said.
