San Angelo Broadway Academy to Perform School of Rock
SAN ANGELO, TX —The San Angelo Broadway Academy will performing a Broadway adaptation of the cult movie School of Rock at Foster Communications Coliseum from May 19-21. The play is based on the cult film featuring Jack Black with a score from Andrew Lloyd Webber.
The musical follows the character Dewey Finn as he poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school in order to make ends meet. When he discovers his fifth graders’ musical talents, he enlists his class to form a rock group and conquer the Battle of the Bands. With the child musicians playing their own instruments on stage, the audience is introduced to how life can change for the better through the gift of music.
Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for children 12 and under; and $12 for military. Tickets can be purchased in advance online at sabroadwayacademy.org or at the door one hour prior to the performance. Performance times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. All seating is general admission.
