SAN ANGELO, TX - A few months ago, San Angelo LIVE! brought readers the story of a local business owner devoted to not only music, but also to giving back to her community (click here). Her quest continues.
Alexandra 'Alex' Cunningham is a Managing Partner of BackBeat Music Company, located at 102 N Chadbourne Street. On the same property is the Big Sky Room: the outdoor portion of the venue.
Not only does Cunningham coordinate and perform in 'jam sessions' for local musicians, run a music store with just about every instrument and spare part imaginable, and give generously to various charitable organizations, but she also wants people to laugh and be happy.
Tonight, in the Big Sky Room at BackBeat Music Company, Cunningham will host Flipside Comedy from 8 p.m.- 10 p.m.
Cunningham said, "The Ladies of West Texas Comedy are gonna split your side wide open. Get ready to laugh your a** off San Angelo; it is gonna be one hell of a show. The evening will feature the wonderful humor of comedians Bethany A. Thomas, Jennifer McNeely, Vanessa Hope and Jeannie Riley Woodman."
"Tickets are only $10," and Cunningham added, "Every comedy show we pass the tip jar to benefit a local charity. We really enjoy being able to use our shows as a means of helping out those who help others. The organization that we are reaching out to this week is one that does great things for our nation's women in uniform while they are deployed: The Women of War Project (WOW)."
