WWE Superstars Return to San Angelo For Fun-Filled Mayhem

SAN ANGELO, TX - Get ready Wrestling fans; they're back. WWE Live is coming to West Texas this weekend. The tour includes a show in Abilene on Friday, and then on to San Angelo this Saturday, August 27. The event is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m., and should go on for 2 1/2 to 3 hours at the Foster Communications Coliseum, 50 E 43rd Street.

"The last time the WWE came to San Angelo, in 2014, the show was close to a sellout," said Sidney Walker, Civic Events Manager for the City of San Angelo. "I think this year we will have a great turnout as well."

Regarding ticket sales, Walker said, "There are still a few great seats left in the house; although I personally feel every seat in the Coliseum is a great seat!"

Per purchase.tickets.com (City of San Angelo Texas), ticket prices are listed from $15 to $95, and all sales are final, with no refunds or exchanges.

As for the line up (matches), there are no guarantees, for it is a contact sport and situations do occur. Many people from of a "certain generation" remember the good old days of wrestling with Mick Foley and Hulk Hogan--the chairs across the face, and what sometimes seemed to be real bloodshed.

The format has changed a little since then. WWE now has more of the glitzy and dramatic, and now there are women who are just as aggressive as the men. Although it's not the typical wrestling one would see in high school competitions, there is just something about the theatrics, acrobatics, and costumes that attract people of all ages and demographics.

WWE is a multi-million dollar business, and there are a lot of die hard fans who grew up collecting all the action figures, played all the video games, and Monday and Tuesday night events on television were their families' ritualistic quality time; but nothing beats seeing it live.

Walker added, "This is an event that many WWE fans look forward to that comes to San Angelo every few years. This year, we have many wrestlers who have not been to San Angelo coming this time around, which is a great thing. Purchase your tickets and come and enjoy the show!"
