10 Sculptures to be Unveiled at Sunken Garden Park

 

Ten new pieces in the sculpture garden at Sunken Garden Park will be unveiled at the 4th Annual Richard and Pam Salmon Sculpture Competition at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16. The event is free and open the public.

Sunken Garden Park, known for its large collection of cannas, is at 704 S. David St. The event will end at 8 p.m.

The mediums of the new pieces vary from steel to bronze to stone. Nine of the pieces were created by Texas artists, including one from San Angelo: “Slope,” a urethane piece by John Vinklarek. The remaining piece is by Kansas sculptor Rollin Karg.

The loan of four pieces from previous competitions has been extended another year.
