ASU Professors to Lead Open Discussion on General Election

 

SAN ANGELO, TX- Angelo State University will host a panel discussion/presentation event titled “Presidential Lies: Deception and the Presidential Election” on Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center and is open free to the public. The panel will be made up of five ASU faculty members, who will present and discuss the following topics:

“All Lies: Overview of Deception”

Dr. Drew Curtis, assistant professor of psychology  

“Leadership and Deception: When it Works and When it Doesn’t”

Dr. Cheryl Stenmark, associate professor of psychology

“Why We Deceive: A Biological Perspective”

Dr. Connie Heimann, professor of biology

“Presidential Campaigns and Public Expectations: Promises and Power”

Dr. Deanna Watts, assistant professor of political science

“Making Numbers Lie”

Dr. Jesse Taylor, assistant professor of mathematics

The event is sponsored by the ASU Department of Psychology, Sociology and Social Work.
