Prosecution Expert: Delacruz is "Narcissistic" and Killed 5-Year-Old Girl for "Revenge"

SAN ANGELO, TX — The defense team arguing for Isidro Delacruz’s life rested just before 2 p.m. today after dueling testimonies by two medical experts, one for the defense and one in rebuttal called by the prosecution, about the Delacruz’s state of mind the night Naiya Villegas was murdered in June 2014.

Delacruz was convicted of murdering the 5-year-old on March 29. Since then, the same jury has been hearing arguments about Delacruz’s fate during the punishment phase of the trial. Will the jury sentence him to death?

Monday morning, the defense called Dr. John Fabian, a neuropsychologist, who testified that Delacruz experienced a ‘perfect storm ‘ of issues that night. Fabian said Delacruz’s heavy drinking—21 beers in earlier testimony—mixed with his depression and anger may have pushed him over the edge. He noted that Delacruz’s depression stemmed from a childhood learning disability and he developed an antisocial disorder.

The 51st District Attorney Allison Palmer would have none of it, however. Palmer called a rebuttal witness to the stand. For the prosecution, psychologist Dr. Michael Arambula testified that Delacruz was narcissistic and killed 5-year-old Naiya out of revenge.

Naiya was the daughter of Tanya Bermea. Bermea was Delacruz’s love interest who had rejected him that night.

With that, the defense rested.

Closing arguments commenced at 2 p.m. Afterwards, the judge is expected to deliver instructions to the jury for deliberations to begin in the punishment phase of the capital murder trial of Isidro Delacruz. Jurors will decide if Delacruz will be sentenced the death penalty or life in prison without parole.

While I'm on a kick, it seems that many of the folks ranting here lately have had problems with the way that our tax money has been being put to work and also how our judicial system works as well... As far as I can tell we are supposed to support our government up to the degree that it makes laws against what God's word says.

Romans 13:1-4 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.

I know that most folks nowadays don't believe in the word of God as the absolute truth and I used to be among those ranks, I don't want anyone to feel like I believe I am better than ya'll, I'm not. There are only 2 types of people, those saved by God's grace in sending His son Jesus to die for our sins and those who reject Him at his word, I am forever thankful that I have been redeemed by Jesus work on the cross and proud to be one of his children!
