Sister of Murdered Abilene Realtor Contacted Convicted Felon

ABILENE, TX-- KTXS in Abilene has reported that a recently-released search warrant shows the sister of Real Estate Agent Tom Niblo, who was murdered in his home on Dec. 12, 2016, made calls to a convicted felon days before Niblo's murder.

Anne Eloise Sweester is named in the search warrant which shows she made calls to a convicted felon with a history of violent crime.

"Subscriber information, historical call, text and data logs, including cell site locations and legend information” were sought after from Nov. 1, 2016 to Dec. 31, 2016 according to the documents.

Police were able to tie Sweester's phone to the ex-convict's phone which carried a 210 area code for San Antonio during their investigation.

Around the time of Niblo's death, Sweester and her brother were in a disagreement about the inheritance of their father.

The search warrant states Sweester was overheard asking an attorney "what would happen to the inheritance if Niblo should die."

Niblo was found dead in his house "a few days later," according to the report.

"Several ingoing and outgoing calls" were made to the unnamed ex-convict's number on Nov. 25, 2016.

When asked about the connection, the man was "unable to explain why his phone number was on Sweester's records" after denying any connection between him and Sweester.

Sgt. Willie Ford says in the documents he knows “disputes over financial assets can be a motivating factor in the commission of murder” and “the suspect sometimes solicits someone to commit the murder on their behalf.”

Abilene Police Chief Stan Stanridge denied a comment but told KTXS he would provide an investigation update "in the coming weeks."

Nobody has been charged with murder in this case, yet.
