Strip Club Fight Leads to Shooting in Abilene; Suspect Identified

ABILENE, TX - Abilene police have identified the man wanted for an early Friday morning shooting outside an apartment complex according to KTXS.

KTXS’ Jamie Burch says Abilene Police say Richard Michael Renteria, 24, is considered armed and dangerous. If  you see him, call 911.

According to police, Renteria shot a woman in the head and a man in the chest following fights at a bar and a gentlemen's club.

The victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition, but are expected to survive.

Two people were shot early Friday morning at an apartment complex in the 500 block of Judge Ely Boulevard.

A 22-year-old African-American male was shot in the chest and a 21-year-old Hispanic female was shot in the head, Abilene Police Chief Stan Standridge said during a news conference.

The shooting occurred around 3:15 a.m. at The Edge.

When police arrived on scene, everyone involved in the shooting had left.

Police stopped one of the vehicles in front of Prosperity Bank near Judge Ely Boulevard and EN 10th Street.

The two victims were inside that car. Both were transported to Hendrick Medical Center. Both are in the ICU and are expected to live.

Police believe there were two fights that led up to the shooting. Earlier in the night, a woman slapped a man at Guitars & Cadillacs.
