K-9 Sniffs Out Narcotics in Monday Night North Side Traffic Stop

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- (SAPD Press Release)  A 39-year-old San Angelo man is facing felony drug charges after Police located methamphetamine inside a vehicle during a traffic stop last night.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, the stop occurred around 9:40 p.m. near W. 9th and N. Bryant Blvd.  During the stop, Police Service Dog Xander conducted an exterior, open-air sniff around the maroon 2000 Chevrolet Suburban.  

During the sniff, Xander gave a positive alert for the presence of narcotics.  A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia associated with the trafficking of narcotics.  

A passenger, identified as Rene F. Zuniga, was charged with First Degree Felony Manufacture Delivery of Controlled Substance.  Another passenger, Olga Guerrero, 29, was arrested for two outstanding warrants.  Zuniga and Guerrero were transported to the Tom Green County Jail.  The vehicle’s driver was released.
