Threat to Permian High School Prompts Odessa Police to Assist.

ODESSA, TX-- The Odessa Police Department is currently assisting Ector County ISD Police after a threat was discovered on a wall in a boys' restroom.

That threat said an unknown subject would "shoot the school" at noon.

So far there have been no reports of a shooting, but ECISD remains on high alert.

"We do not know if this is a credible threat or just someone trying to disrupt the school day," ECISD said in a statement. "Either way we take this very seriously. Our ECISD Police are investigating and will have a number of officers on the campus for the rest of the day to watch the situation."

The statement also said Permian would stay on it's regular schedule despite the threat.
