Odessa Couple Charged with Serious Injury to a Child

ODESSA, TX – Odessa police have charged two parents with Serious Bodily Injury to a Child, a First Degree Felony.

On June 1, Odessa Police received an injury to a child report. The investigation found that a 5-year-old male was extremely underweight and severely malnourished.

The child was initially taken to the ORMC Hospital but due to the child’s extremely malnourished condition, he was immediately transferred to a trauma based hospital in Lubbock.

Medical personnel advised that the child’s condition was attributed to severe malnourishment and that there was substantial evidence of physical and medical neglect.  Based on the investigation's findings, Odessa police obtained warrants for the arrest of the child's parent's - 42-year-old Robert Rincon Jr. and 33-year Isabel Rincon.

Both subjects turned themselves in to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on Thursday.
