Two Men Sought After Running from DPS in Sweetwater and Abilene

 

ABILENE, TX ‘— The Texas DPS is searching for a subject who evaded them late Friday morning in Sweetwater and Abilene.

According to the DPS, at 11:12 a.m. Friday morning, on I-20 west of Sweetwater, a red Dodge Journey van refused to stop for highway patrol. In Sweetwater, as DPS troopers pursued the subject, a Hispanic man wearing a white shirt and blue jeans bailed out of the Journey near Gulfton Rd. A stolen firearm was also recovered, having been thrown out of the Journey in Sweetwater.

Troopers continued the pursuit of the Journey eastbound on I-20 into Abilene. Troopers lost sight of the van on S. 7th St. at Don Juan St. inside the Abilene city limits.

DPS describes the subject as a Hispanic man, around 5’6”, bald, and with a mustache. DPS notes the man has tattoos on his neck andis wearing a red striped shirt.

DPS considers the subjects armed and dangerous. Do not attempt to apprehend these subjects, but call 9-1-1 instead, if you see them.
