Border Patrol Seizes $1.7 Million Worth of Meth at Checkpoint

DEL RIO, TX - This week, U.S. Border Patrol agents working checkpoint operations in Uvalde seized more than $1.7 million worth of methamphetamine hidden inside a vehicle.

According to a press release, on April 3, a driver pulled up to the primary inspection lane of a Border Patrol checkpoint west of Uvalde. After a thorough inspection of the vehicle, agents found 34 packages of crystal meth worth $1,747,200.00.

The driver was arrested and the methamphetamine and vehicle were turned over to Homeland Security Investigations.

“Del Rio Sector recognizes the growing impact that narcotics are having on our communities,” said Acting Del Rio Sector Chief Matthew J. Hudak. “A seizure like this hits smuggling organizations financially, while taking these deadly drugs off the streets. I am very proud of all those involved in this seizure.”

The Del Rio Border Patrol Sector is part of the South Texas Corridor, which leverages federal, state and local resources to combat transnational criminal organizations. To report suspicious activity, call the sector’s toll-free number at (866) 511-8727.

This drug capture and Tramp's (misspelling of his name intentional, since I consider him to be a pig) wall will solve nothing. As long as this country provides a lucrative market for this filth its marketers will find a way to get it to those who choose to destroy themselves through its use. There is simply too much money to be made. The problem lies on our side of the border.

I say this as someone who has a family member who has destroyed his life with crack cocaine.
