Weekend Arrests: Assaults and Family Violence in Full Swing
SAN ANGELO, TX - This weekend, 79 people made their way to the Tom Green County Jail. Topping the list of crimes were the usual: assault, including family violence, drugs and alcohol.
In one case on Saturday, Kevin Ray Blakey, 48, was arrested for Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon and unlawful carrying of a knife. San Angelo Police said, at around 3 p.m., police dispatched to the 300 block of E. 39th St. for the report of a fight in progress. Blakey was taken into custody and booked into the Tom Green County Jail.
In another assault case, 26-year-old Terrance Fillmore was arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence, Resist Arrest Search or Transport, Criminal Mischief >=$750<$2,500, and five outstanding warrants. On Saturday, at around 1:40 a.m., SAPD officers dispatched to the 1800 block of Walnut Street for the report of a domestic disturbance.
"During the investigation, Fillmore advised the officers he was not going to jail and attempted to flee from them by running and resisting arrest," said SAPD. "Fillmore also received a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia."
Overall, there were three people arrested for Assault Class C, six people arrested for Assault Causes Bodily Injury (including family violence), and the one instance of Agg Assault w/Deadly Weapon perpetrated by Blakey.
Also overall, out of the 79 people booked, 39 people had new complaints, 29 had outstanding warrants, and 11 had both.
