A Brownwood Teacher Resigns, Investigation Ensues into Inappropriate Relationship

SAN ANGELO, TX - A Brownwood High School teacher, whose identity has not been released as of yet, resigned amidst allegations of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

KTXS reported that Brownwood ISD Superintendent Dr. Joe Young got a call from Brownwood Police on Tuesday with "disturbing and upsetting details" regarding an alleged relationship between a teacher and a 2014 Brownwood High School graduate.

"Young said the alleged relationship began while the student attended Brownwood High School," KTXS reported.

The teacher was immediately placed on leave and resigned yesterday. Young told KTXS he has notified the State Board for Educator Certification about the allegations, but no official charges have been filed as of yet.

The Brownwood Police Department is investigating the allegations, and the school district is cooperating.
