Suspect Named in Big Spring Shoot-out

 

BIG SPRING, TX- A suspect has been identified in the officer-involved shooting in Big Spring.

NewsWest 9 reported that Texas DPS have identified the suspect as Raul Reyes, 60, of Big Spring. As of now, Reyes is being treated at University Medical Center in Lubbock for injuries.

NewsWest 9 was told that multiple shots were fired and two weapons recovered at the scene. One of the weapons found was an assault rifle that was fired at the officers.

“We’re told no officers were injured in the shooting, but a Big Spring police officer and DPS Trooper were involved in the shooting,” NewsWest 9 said.

This is an ongoing investigation taken over by the Texas Rangers.
