Man Arrested for Meth Possession Found Sitting on His Gun

 

SAN ANGELO, TX- At approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning, San Angelo Police Department (SAPD) conducted a traffic stop on a grey 2003 GMC Yukon in the 800 block of N. Jefferson Street.

Officers made contact with the driver, identified as 28-year-old Zachary Alan Garcia, who was wanted on an outstanding county warrant. According to a SAPD press release, Garcia was arrested for the warrant and police seized a revolver that Garcia was sitting on.

During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a backpack that contained drug paraphernalia as well as suspected narcotics, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. 

Garcia was charged with Felony 2 Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Unlawful Carrying Weapon, Possession/Delivery of Drug Paraphernalia, Expired Registration, and No Insurance.

Garcia was transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident.
