North Texas Man Convicted of Indecency With a Child in Abilene

ABILENE, TX - A North Texas man, Barry Eugene Geiger, 53, convicted earlier this month for indecency with a child, was arrested in Taylor County.

According to court documents, the victim’s mother told police in February 2015 Geiger used ‘FaceTime’ to speak with her daughter from his Kaufman County home, southeast of Dallas. FaceTime allows people with an Apple device to chat over video similar to Skype.

The documents state that, during the call, Geiger asked the girl to go to her bedroom and close the door.

“After some time,” the mom went to tell her daughter goodnight and noticed she was not wearing her nightgown.

According to court documents, the girl told her mom Geiger asked her to take it off and touch herself.

The girl also told her mom that Geiger also “touched her genitals” several times while she was at his home in Kauffman County, according to the document.

Geiger was convicted in Kaufman County for indecency with a child and sentenced September 1 to five years in prison.
