TGCSO Releases More Details on Yesterday's Aggravated Robbery

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - Tom Green County Sheriff's Office officials are asking for the public's help in identifying the location of the man in the posted images. He is wanted in connection with the Aggravated Robbery that occurred yesterday at Loop 306 and FM 388/Paint Rock Road. A suspect assaulted a San Angelo man and stole his vehicle.

"If you know the identify and/or location of this man, please contact Sgt. Martha Muro or Sgt. Orlando Juarez at (325) 655-8111," said TGCSO.

Update Aug. 29 @ 5:30 p.m.

In an update this evening, a press release from TGCSO reiterated the incident that took place yesterday afternoon. 

According to the release, Deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of S. Loop 306 for a reported aggravated robbery. Deputies learned the victim was taken by ambulance to Shannon Hospital Emergency Room. Tom Green County Patrol Deputies and TGC Criminal Investigation Division met with the victim in the hospital and gathered information about the incident.
 
"Deputies began a search for the suspects and vehicle and observed it traveling west on Preusser St. and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle initially came to a stop, but then sped off. A vehicle pursuit ensued resulting in the vehicle wrecking in the 500 blk. of Pulliam St. Two occupants fled the scene and one was apprehended. The suspect was identified as Edmundo Rodriguez. The other two suspect’s identity is unknown at this time.

Edmundo Rodriguez, 28 was arrested for Evading arrest/detention on foot and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
 
As stated previously, the Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect involved between the hours of 11:10 a.m.-11:35 am. The suspect was last seen at Lowe’s Grocery Store at 9 a.m. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5’9 to 6’0, and 180 to 190 pounds with tattoos on both arms. He might be a smoker and possibly a transient. He may go by the name of Gerardo or Junior and maybe from Houston, Texas. The suspect is considered to be dangerous.

This afternoon, local law enforcement officials are looking for two of three suspects after one of them assaulted a San Angelo man and stole his vehicle.

Lt. Stacye Speck, patrol lieutenant for the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office, said the original call came out that a man was assaulted and his car stolen at Loop 306 and FM 388.

Speck said a patrolman went to the hospital where the man was located and confirmed the assault and stolen vehicle.

“The patrolman found the car and initiated a traffic stop,” said Lt. Speck. “The car evaded and ended up wrecking.”

The crash occurred in the 500 block of Pulliam Street.

Speck said three subjects in the vehicle fled on foot after the crash. One was apprehended, but the other two have yet to be caught.

“This is an ongoing investigation,” said Speck.

Update 3:19 p.m.

Lt. Speck clarified that one of the suspects actually assaulted the man and stole the vehicle; however, there were three subjects in it at the time of the attempted traffic stop and crash.
