FBI Issues Warrant for Lyle Steed Jeffs

The FBI in Salt Lake City issued a warrant this week for the arrest of Lyle Steed Jeffs, 56. Jeffs is a leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS Church), and was on pre-trial release awaiting his upcoming federal trial. He is also the brother of Warren Jeffs, previous leader of the FLDS Church at the Yearning for Zion Ranch in Eldorado, Texas.

Warren Jeffs made national news in 2008 when 12 FLDS men were put on trial in Tom Green County for offenses related to underage marriages (more here).
