Two Arrested for Counterfeiting in Abilene, APD Searching for Another

 

In April, 2016, the Abilene Police Department began receiving numerous reports of counterfeit United States Currency in many different denominations being passed at numerous convenience stores, restaurants and other local vendors in Abilene. Therefore, an on-going investigation was conducted by the Abilene Police Department into the counterfeit currency.

On May 2, 2016, the investigation led to the APD's Special Operations Division and Fraud Division executing two search warrants and arresting two individuals. Jessica Hutta, 32, was arrested for 3rd Degree Felony Forgery at a South Abilene residence. Clifton Adams, 38, was arrested for 3rd Degree Felony Forgery, State Jail Felony Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information and State Jail Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance to wit: Cocaine at a North Abilene residence.

The Abilene Police Department is still trying to locate a person of interest in this investigation, Corwin Kershaw, a black male, 27. He currently has two outstanding warrants for his arrest for a Parole Violation and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver out of Taylor County.
