Woman Stabbed Multiple Times this Morning, Investigation Launched

 

San Angelo police are investigating a stabbing that took place on Wednesday morning in east San Angelo that sent one woman to the hospital in serious condition.

Sergeant Cade Solsbery, Public Information Officer for the SAPD, provided the following details of the attack in a media briefing this afternoon:

At approximately 11:14 a.m., San Angelo Police dispatch received a 911 call about a stabbing in the 1700 block of N. Pope. Officers arrived at approximately 11:20 a.m. and found a male subject standing in the yard. They also found a female subject with multiple stab wounds. She had multiple wounds all over her body.

A witness indicated that the male subject was the suspect and he was taken into custody. The male subject is believed to live at the residence. The incident is believed to have taken place in a back room on the property.

San Angelo Fire Department medics arrived and transported the female victim to Shannon Medical Center, where she has been listed in serious condition and is currently in surgery. 

Members of the Crime Scene Unit and Criminal Investigations Division have arrived to conduct an investigation. Detective Lynn Dye is leading the investigation.
