WATCH: Fire Damages San Angelo Home During Tuesday Morning Downpour

 

SAN ANGELO – San Angelo Firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in the midst of the heavy rain Tuesday morning that damaged a home on Coliseum Dr. in north San Angelo.   

San Angelo first responders were busy with vehicle crashes during the heavy rain Tuesday morning with multiple crashes reported on Loop 306 and on Knickerbocker Rd.  The San Angelo Police Department issued a Nixle Alert advising drivers to avoid Loop 306 because of the crashes.  

Emergency communications indicate a structure was on fire in the 3900 block of Coliseum Dr. near the Stripes Convenience store at the corner of Coliseum and N. Chadbourne St.  

When firefighters arrived, the found heavy smoke emanating from the structure.

Reporters on the scene say it appears firefighters quickly gained control of the fire.  

There is no official word at this time what started the fire or if there were any injuries.
