Cattle Trailer Overturns and Kills Livestock in Runnels County

 

RUNNELS COUNTY, TX-- At approximately 12:05 am on April 13, Runnels County Dispatch received a call of a Tractor trailer wreck on highway 67 between Ballinger and Rowena.

When units arrived, a cattle truck was found over turned in the center median near county road 244.

Several cows were killed and others escaped the trailer, but were contained and transported elsewhere.

It is believed the driver of the tractor trailer fell asleep but was unhurt.

The truck belonged to Holman trucking company out of Jacksonville Texas.

Runnels County Sheriffs Office, Department Of Public safety, Ballinger Fire Department and Texas Department of Transportation assisted.

The scene was cleared at approximately 9:40 a.m.
