2 Held on Intoxication Assault Charges Following Curious Crash Near Eola
SAN ANGELO, TX — A curious two-vehicle crash near Eola resulted in two arrested for intoxication assault with a vehicle, according to court documents.
At around midnight early Friday morning, the Texas DPS reported, April Moreno, 30, of Eola, was eastbound in a 2006 Ram pickup on FM 765, 12 miles east of San Angelo. Following her was Jose Rosales, 34, of San Angelo, in a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. The DPS investigation revealed that Moreno in her Ram turned in front of Rosales’ Chevy, causing Rosales to strike the front driver’s side door of Moreno’s Ram.
The location of the crash:
The wreckage was so devastatingly bad that the crash initially appeared to be a head-on collision, according to a witness. The law enforcement personnel first on the scene called for two ambulances and to place Shannon’s Airmed 1 helicopter ambulance on standby.
The DPS did not state what speed the two vehicles were traveling, but did state that both drivers, who were the sole occupants of their respective pickups, sustained serious bodily injuries.
The report also states that both drivers were driving under the influence of alcohol.
