Chadbourne Closes to Clear Crash of Two Ford Trucks

SAN ANGELO, TX — Two Ford trucks collided at the intersection of N. Chadbourne St. and 21st St. just after 10 a.m. The collision shut down all southbound traffic on Chadbourne and one of two northbound lanes was closed as first responders cleaned up the crash scene.

According to San Angelo Police Department Traffic Investigator Brian Bylsma, a flatbed 2004 Ford F-650 was northbound attempting to turn left on 21st St. The driver may not have seen the southbound F-350 and turned in front of it.

The driver of the F-350 did not have time or space to avoid colliding with the flatbed. The force of the collision knocked the rear axle of the F-650 off.

There were two occupants of the flatbed, and the driver was rushed to the hospital complaining of minor injuries. The passenger refused transport, but also was complaining of pain. The driver of the F-350 also refused transport.

Police cited the driver of the flatbed for failure to yield the right-of-way when turning left. The driver of the F-350 was cited for not wearing a seatbelt.
