2 Children Dead After Abilene Man Crashes While Street Racing

 

CEDAR PARK, TX-- Cedar Park Police have formally charged 18-year-old Hayden Michael Hammer after a Jan. 10 crash that left two children dead and a mother in a coma.

Hammer was reportedly street racing in his truck when he struck a Nissan Rogue near US Highway 183 in Cedar Park by a Walmart on Whitestone Blvd.

Elijah Chaudhary, 8, and Daniel Chaudhary, 1, were pronounced dead on the scene. 

The driver of the Rogue, Zara Salman, 31, is still in a coma according to a report from KTXS. Daniel was Salman's biological son and Elijah was her step-son.

Hammer has been charged with two counts of racing on a highway causing death with his bond totaling $200,000.

Police are still trying to identify the driver of the Maroon F-250 that was racing Hammer. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 512-260-4600.
