Texas Tech Student Killed in Abilene Crash

 

ABILENE, TX-- KTXS in Abilene reported that a 20-year-old woman was killed in a crash shortly after noon on Tuesday.

That woman has since been identified as Texas Tech student Gabrielle Barajas.

According to KTXS, Barajas' driver's license listed her as a resident of Baytown, a suburb of Houston. However, it was listed on her Facebook that she attended Garland High School and was from Wichita Falls.

The crash happened when Barajas, driving a red Chevy Cobalt, lost control of her vehicle and struck the back of a of a broken down 18-wheeler on I-20 westbound.

Barajas was pronounced dead on the scene.
