Drunk Driver Rear-Ends ASU Patrol Unit
SAN ANGELO, TX — Late Saturday night, a drunk driver rear ended an ASU Officer, the University's police reported on their Facebook page.
An ASU officer was stopped at the traffic light on W. Ave. N and S. Johnson St., when their patrol unit was struck in the rear by a Ford truck.
There were no apparent injuries, however the driver of the Ford truck was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. The patrol car suffered extensive damage to the rear door and bumper.
SAPD investigated the incident, to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest. The drunk driving investigation and arrest was conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
