Pickup Plows into Power Poles; 1500 Homes Without Electricity

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A late night vehicle crash has knocked out electric power to approximately 1500 homes in south and east San Angelo.  

According to reports on the scene, a pickup driven by a suspected intoxicated driver crashed into some power poles near Ben Ficklin Rd. and South Bryant Blvd behind the Stripes store and the RV sales lot.  

Fred Hernandez with AEP confirmed that the power was out and was being rerouted.  Reports indicate traffic lights were out along S. Bryant and Loop 306 into the Southland area.  

San Angelo Police were re-directing traffic in the areas where signal lights and power were out.
