Sleepy Chevy Driver Collides with a Garage Door in East San Angelo

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Just before noon on Wednesday, a Chevy pickup truck struck a garage door of a residence in the 1200 block of Nicole Lane and Lester Lane in East San Angelo.

San Angelo Police officer Joshua Loudermilk said the single male occupant of the pickup was traveling east on Lester Lane when he began to feel fatigued from being awake for more than 24 hours.

The driver advised officer Loudermilk that he passed out while operating the vehicle and woke up to find his truck inside the garage door.

"The [Chevy] struck two parked vehicles then preceded to collide with the garage area taking out the door," Loudermilk stated.

The driver was not injured from the collision. There were no signs of drugs or alcohol use contributing to the crash.

The driver was cited for disregarding a stop-sign, no drivers license, and no insurance.
