Saturday Afternoon Accident Claims Life of Harley Davidson Rider

 

SUTTON COUNTY — Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, a single-vehicle accident, involving a 2004 Harley Davidson, took the life of the bike driver. 

William Autry Sprinkle, 72, was driving a westbound on IH-10, 29 miles east of Sonora, when he attempted to pass a truck tractor semitrailer. However, as he was passing, Sprinkle lost control of his bike, veered off the roadway into the center median and rolled several times. 

Sprinkle was pronounced dead on the scene by Judge Edmiston. Sprinkle was wearing his helmet at the time of the accident.

The weather and road conditions were clear and dry, with a posted speed limit of 80 mph.

This accident was investigated by Trooper Valetin Cantu, DPS Sonora. Trooper Clayton Arredondo, DPS Sonora, Trooper Whitney Gardner, DPS Junction, Trooper Zulema Salazar, DPS Sonora, and the Sutton County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
