Juveniles Steal Family Car and Crash, Three Sent to Local Hospital

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS -- Shortly before 9 p.m. this evening, a major motor vehicle accident occurred in the 100 block of E 39th street.

Sgt. Kelly Lajoie explained that two juveniles, thought to be 15 and 12 years old, decided to take their parents car and brought along their 3-year-old sibling. The juveniles managed to drive around the block several times before their parents came out to find them driving the car.

At one point, the driver, one of the older siblings, decided to stop the car, but as one of the parents attempted to take the younger sibling out of the car, the driver floored it and hit a nearby electricity pole.

There were no skid marks visible to investigating officers, signaling that the brakes were never hit before impact.

All occupants of the vehicle have been transported to a nearby hospital for unknown injuries. None of the car's occupants were licensed drivers.

Sgt. Lajoie noted that the SAPD's Child Crimes Division has been notified to investigate the scene.

As of right now, no citations have been given. Further charges are pending the outcome of the investigation from Child Crimes investigators.

No power outages were reported from the accident.

If I were the parents of the kid that was driving that thing, I'd be busy this morning signing all the necessary papers to donate him to some orphanage far far away.......

Ding Bat what did you do when you were a kid???? Were you perfect? You are so full of it!!!!!Kids are going to be KIDS AND ARE GOING TO DO WHATEVER THEY CAN THINK THAT THEY CAN DO..........

Sorry, but I agree. The 12 & 15 year old might slip outside some without too much notice but 3 year olds??? Kids will be kids but getting out & taking their parents car AND taking 3 year olds kids too? That's the part I'd whip them for. Kids are getting way outta control these days & people thinking that it's just "kids being kids" is the reason that things like this happen. Thank goodness the babies weren't hurt, if they had been killed would it still just be kids being kids???

I did not mean that they would not get the belt, just that I would not give them up. and yes, I would of whip their butts good! But! I think I would have known where they were and what they were up to, but still kids are kids, and you need to be on top of them , they need to know right from wrong, and when they mess up the mom or dad oruncle whoever thekids livewith need to be there and teach them . I think sometimes talking does a lot better than the belt, but with some they need the belt. and some moms and dads need the belt.
