Teenager Struck By Vehicle in Serious Condition

 

ABILENE, TX – A 17-year-old Abilene teen was struck by a vehicle in north Abilene just before 10 p.m. yesterday, Rick Tomlin, Abilene Police Department Public Information Coordinator released on Facebook earlier this afternoon. 

Abilene Police were called out to the scene of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle and lying in the roadway near the intersection of North Judge Ely Blvd. and Ambler Ave. in the evening hours of July 4. 2017.

Witnesses at the scene say 17-year-old Brayden Farmer had entered the roadway to retrieve a skateboard when a 2008 Nissan car  traveling south on Judge Ely hit him. Farmer was lying in the roadway when emergency crews arrived. He suffered a severe head injury and was transported to a local hospital. Farmer was subsequently transferred to John Peter Smith hospital in Ft. Worth due to the severity of his injury.

The Nissan was driven by Abilene resident James Jones, 29. No citations were issued in this crash.
