U-Turn Causes Vehicle Accident Near Intersection of Bryant and Ave Q.

SAN ANGELO, TX –At approximately 7:30 p.m., San Angelo Police Department (SAPD) officers responded to a major motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Ave Q and Bryant. The wreck resulted in two totaled vehicles, however, both drivers sustained no major injuries.

Officer Pollitt stated that a Dodge Ram pickup was traveling northbound on Bryant when a Honda Elantra failed to yield the right-of-`way during a U-turn. The driver of the Honda was traveling south on Bryant when the driver attempted to merge into oncoming northbound traffic. However, the driver did not see the Dodge Ram in time, and subsequently they both collided.

The drivers of both vehicles were treated at the scene by EMS and refused transport; both drivers complained of the “usual aches and pains” associated with collision. The driver of the Honda will receive a citation for failing to yield right-of-way at a left turn.
