18-Wheeler Loses Control, Strikes Pole, Rolls

SAN ANGELO, TX — An 18-wheeler overturned on U.S. 67 northeast of San Angelo just before noon on Monday.

According to the Texas DPS, the truck tractor pulling a semi-trailer was northbound after dropping off a load in San Angelo to Waco. The driver told the trooper that the truck began pulling to the right and he corrected it several times. “Then finally, it pulled him off the roadway,” Trooper Sam Gonzalez said.

Once off the roadway, the truck struck a telephone pole, which could have be the reason the tractor rolled over. The exact location of the crash was 10212 U.S. 67 north, about 15 minutes northeast of San Angelo.

The driver wasn’t seriously injured, the trooper said. The skies were clear and the roadways dry. Along this portion of U.S. 67, the speed limit is 75 mph.
