MITCHELL COUNTY, TEXAS- Just before 8 a.m. this morning, a Colorado City man was killed in a single vehicle crash on Interstate 20 near Westbrook in Mitchell County. The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the man as Samuel Manuel Lujan, age 55, according to KTXS.com.

Lujan was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said he was driving a pick-up truck on I-20 when he drove straight through a curve in the the roadway near a bridge.

“The vehicle slid up a concrete barrier, rolled over to its left and off the bridge,” DPS spokesman Fred Biddle said in an email to local news sources. “It then struck a concrete embankment.”

Lujan's body was taken to Kiker-Seale Funeral Home in Colorado City. The investigation is still ongoing.
