San Angelo Police Officer Loudermilk said, based on driver and witness statements, EMS Medic 2 was traveling westbound on Sherwood Way by H-E-B. The Medic activated lights and sirens. Vehicles moved to the side so it could get through, and it had to maneuver around another vehicle. Witnesses said the Medic had a green light on Sherwood Way.

However, when it got to Oxford, it crashed into a Honda Civic. Officer Loudermilk said the driver of the Honda attempted to get across the road "real quick" on a red light.

Loudermilk stated there were no injuries, but the driver was cited for failing to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle, which caused the collision, and for disregarding the red light.
