20-Year-Old Man Dies After Running Into South Winters Freeway Traffic

 

ABILENE, TX – Early this morning, 20-year-old Caleb Davis, a Potosi man, was killed after he ran into the northbound lanes of South Winters Freeway. 

At around 12:51 a.m. this morning, police responded to a “check welfare” call near the intersection of South Clack and Waldemar Street, reported KTXS, where the incident had occurred. After Davis exited his vehicle, he was "observed running into the middle of the northbound lanes of the 1300 block of South Winters Freeway.”

Justice of the Peace Sparky Dean pronounced Davis deceased at the scene.

A press release from Abilene police stated that "the pedestrian was struck by a northbound vehicle moments” after exiting his vehicle.

This crash is still under investigation.
