Suspect and Victim Identified in Fatal Shallowater Crash

 

LUBBOCK, TX- Officials released the names of the suspect and victim involved in the deadly crash on FM 2641 and CR 1700 yesterday. The driver of the Ford Mustang has been identified as 30-year-old Ozzy David Roberts of Lubbock, and he victim of the crash has been identified as 80-year-old Sandra Wells of Denver City.The previous story about this crash can be found here.

It has been confirmed that the wreck occurred at 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28. Wells was pronounced dead at the scene. KCBD reported that DPS officials said drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

KCBD said, “The driver of the Mustang was taken into custody and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen on Wednesday.”

The intersection where the crash occurred will be closed today from the hours of 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. while DPS investigates this accident.

A DPS official said, “All traffic will be detoured so all motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route during this time. The Texas Department of Transportation will assist in detouring traffic and setting up cones and vehicles to help troopers complete their work safely and quickly.”
