Another Life Lost on Wet Kimble County Highway

KIMBLE COUNTY, TX – Yesterday afternoon, around 12:30 p.m. on I 10, a two vehicle crash left one dead and one injured.

The Department of Public Safety said a 2004 Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on I-10 when it turned left into the median intending to cross over into the eastbound lane. Unfortunately, the Ford collided with an oncoming 2013 Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound on I-10 on the outside lanes. Justice of the Peace Peggy Ragsdale pronounced the driver of F-150, 47 year-old Miguel Angel Rios, from Mission, Texas, dead on the scene. Rios was not wearing his seat belt.

Robert L. Kester, 54, of New Braunfels, Texas, was the driver of the 2013 Chevy Silverado. He wore his seat belt and sustained non-incapacitating injuries.

State Trooper Whitney Gardner of Junction DPS was on the scene. The Kimble County Sheriff’s Office assisted State Trooper Gardner. Next of Kin have been notified.
